When I work with you as a client, my goal is to help you feel empowered and rediscover a sense of hope while navigating life’s difficulties. During sessions I hope to guide you in processing your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and memories in order to build resilience and develop inner peace. I enjoy working with adults experiencing trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and OCD, among other concerns. I use a primarily client-centered approach and incorporate a variety of additional interventions including CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy. You and I will work together to determine which interventions feel most appropriate and helpful to you.
I will be very collaborative with you in developing your treatment plan and finding the approaches that best address your individual concerns. During our sessions together I want you to feel heard, validated, and supported in processing your emotions. I encourage clients to provide feedback on their experience of therapy and what I can continue to do or change about my approach to promote a safe space and an effectively therapeutic environment.
I connect with my clients through empathy and the willingness to understand their experience to the best of my ability. In order to promote healing, I guide clients in self-validation and development of trust in their own problem-solving and decision-making. I support them in challenging chronic self-doubt and shame and embracing authenticity.
