Personal Experience & Biography

I have extensive experience working with children who are struggle with behavioral issues, mental health disorders, and have trauma histories. This experience coupled with my education have prepared me to help those who need support and understanding in their lives. Techniques that are effective with children, such as play therapy, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed care, can be adapted for adult clients, fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. Moreover, recognizing the signs of trauma and mental health disorders allows me to better assess and address the needs of my clients. By incorporating strategies that promote resilience, self-regulation, and coping mechanisms drawn from work with children, I can empower clients to navigate their own struggles, facilitating healing and growth. Ultimately, this experiential knowledge enhances the my ability to connect with clients empathetically, creating a foundation of trust that is essential for effective treatment.

I would describe myself as a therapist that is non-judgmental, understanding, kind, and straight-forward. In sessions with me, I strive for clients to feel a profound sense of safety, allowing them to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. My goal is for empathy to foster a deep connection, helping clients feel understood and validated in their experiences. I utilize a compassionate approach that encourages openness, making it easier for clients to confront difficult issues. My straightforward manner enhances clarity, guiding clients to reflect critically without feeling overwhelmed. Importantly, I challenge my clients to develop their own solutions, promoting autonomy and empowering them to take ownership of their healing process. By asking thought-provoking questions and facilitating problem-solving, the I help clients recognize their strengths and potential. The collaborative dynamics in sessions nurtures a greater sense of self-efficacy, enabling clients to navigate their challenges with confidence and resilience, ultimately leading to sustained personal growth.

Clients are often motivated to continue seeing me because I try to embody empathy and a strength-based approach. I provide a safe space where clients feel genuinely understood and valued, which is crucial for building trust and rapport. By focusing on a strength-based perspective, I can help clients identify and build upon their strengths and resources, instilling a sense of hope and capability. I provide positive reinforcement and encouragement so that clients become more engaged in their therapeutic journey. I celebrate progress, no matter how small to create an environment of positivity. Ultimately, this positive relationship not only enhances the therapeutic experience but also motivates clients to commit to their growth and well-being, knowing they have someone in their corner who believes in their potential.
