Personal Experience & Biography

I have worked as a mental health therapist with children, teenagers, adults and older adults in an Integrated behavioral health setting and a community mental health setting treating a variety of mental health disorders. I have experience working with mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD and BPD. I am also skilled at addressing symptoms related to grief and loss, relationship issues, codependency, adjustment disorders and issues specific to the LGBTQ population. Substance use and treatment of other addictive disorders is also an area of expertise.

My goal is to create an atmosphere that is gentle, person centered and nonjudgmental. I use a variety of evidenced based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cpt and mindfulness practices. Interventions are tailored in a way that consider an individual’s goals, cultural background, beliefs and personality type.

Although I am an expert in my field as a therapist, the client is the expert of their own life. I help empower clients in a way that allows them to take what is discussed/practiced in therapy and apply it to their daily lives. Although therapy can be challenging and emotionally painful at times, seeing the positive changes that result, motivate the client to come back for follow ups.
