Personal Experience & Biography

I value authenticity and transparency and believe the relationship in therapy is the key element to a powerful experience. We get more from therapy when we are open. Often, we are not getting our needs met out of fear or avoidance, and therapy is a great way to practice embodiment, taking space and being present as your authentic self.

I often use EMDR in treatment for trauma, anxiety and depression. We all hold messages from our past experiences that impact us. We can heal when we examine these messages through a curious and nonjudgmental lens. I enjoy bringing expressive arts, creativity and mindfulness into sessions to build coping skills and connect on a deeper level.

Therapy can look and feel different for everyone and the fit to the right therapist matters! I like to start with a bit of a check-in to make sure we can prioritize anything you are looking to explore (we’ve all had that moment after a conversation where we remember everything we forgot to bring up!). I also end most sessions with a check-out to help you feel more grounded after the session. Sometimes therapy can feel heavy or tearful, and sometimes it feels relieving or relaxed. It all depends on what’s going on and what you’re looking for and needing at the time. I try to meet you where you’re at each time, even if that varies from session to session.

I feel honored every time a client shares feeling safe with me. I really value our therapeutic relationship and find that transparency and feedback can be healing, validating and connecting. I will be honest with you and I will hold space for you. Individualized care is important and therapy can look different for everyone, so I aim to learn what works best for you.
