As an MFT I have been taught to use therapy methods such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Bowen Theory, Structure Therapy Method, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strategic Therapy, Family- Focused and more. These are some of the models used in our sessions, but I integrate into our sessions CBT, Meditation, Mindfulness, Psychoeducation and EMDR practices. I also utilize Play and Art Therapy with younger clients. Have you ever experienced a custom meditation before? I piece together guided imagery to help you reach your therapy goals. I am here to guide you, not carry you or push you to your destination.
I am open and mindful. I will make you comfortable and help you to feel empowered at the same time. Sessions with me can consist of laughter, tears, or calm quiet introspection. You will always experience your session with me feeling safe and understood. I work to help my clients understand their feelings internally (mental) and throughout their physical being (somatic). We might meditate on golden sands or learn how to breath when things get a bit too much. We might spend time understanding how your life so far shaped the feelings you are having now. We could take time to learn your family history and interactions and feel excited as you break those molds of homeostasis and begin a new path. Whatever we do in session, we do for you and we do it as a team.
My clients come back to me because they know what I teach them, what we do in session, works. They learn tools they need to be able to heal and move on from whatever experience that is hindering them now. They build new bonds with their families and friends. They learn boundaries. Every single session with me they leave with information, action, and a sense of hope. This is what keeps them returning until they become so healed they don’t need therapy any more.
