Personal Experience & Biography

I work with clients who are carrying some of the heaviest emotional burdens — trauma, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and the daily stress of navigating life with a neurodiverse mind or family dynamic. My goal is always to meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, and to walk alongside you as we build a path toward healing and stability together.

With over three years of clinical mental health experience and more than two decades working with children, families, and neurodiverse individuals, I bring a uniquely layered approach to therapy. I don’t rely on a single method — instead, I draw from multiple evidence-based frameworks to tailor treatment to each person’s needs.

Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and reshape the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I teach practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and tolerating distress without it taking over your life. For clients who have experienced trauma, I integrate narrative therapy and mindfulness-based approaches to help you process painful experiences at your own pace, reclaim your story, and develop a stronger sense of self.

For my younger clients and those who find traditional talk therapy difficult, play therapy offers a natural and developmentally appropriate way to express emotions and work through challenges. And for families and caregivers, I bring my extensive background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and caregiver coaching to help you better understand your loved one’s behavior, reduce conflict at home, and create an environment where everyone can thrive.

Being bilingual in English and Spanish also allows me to provide culturally responsive care to Spanishspeaking clients and families, ensuring that language is never a barrier to getting the support you deserve. Whether you are an individual dealing with trauma, a couple navigating relational stress, a parent seeking guidance, or a family in need of wraparound support — I am here to help you build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward a more stable and fulfilling life.

Walking into a session with me, the first thing most people notice is that it does not feel clinical or stiff. I am warm, direct, and genuinely curious about the people I work with. I laugh easily, I ask real questions, and I am not afraid to sit in silence when silence is what a moment needs. My goal is always for you to feel like you are talking to someone who truly cares — because I do.

I am also very real with my clients. I do not hide behind professional distance or speak in ways that feel detached or overly formal. If something is important, I will say it clearly and honestly, always with kindness and always with your best interest at heart. I believe therapy works best when there is genuine human connection, and I bring my whole self into every session to make that possible.

At the same time, I am structured and intentional. I come prepared, I pay close attention, and I remember the details of your story — because the details matter. You will never feel like just another appointment on my calendar. I take notes not just on what you say, but on how you say it, what lights you up, what shuts you down, and what patterns keep showing up in your life. That kind of attentiveness is something my clients often tell me they notice and appreciate.

I also bring a great deal of patience to my work. Having spent over two decades with children, families, and individuals navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges, I have learned that healing is rarely a straight line. There will be sessions where we make big breakthroughs and sessions where we simply hold steady. Both are valuable, and I never rush the process. I meet you where you are, every single time. For my younger clients, sessions with me often feel more like play and exploration than traditional therapy. I use humor, creativity, and movement to connect with children in ways that feel natural and comfortable to them. Kids often leave my sessions not even realizing how much work we just did together — and that is exactly the point.

For adults and couples, I create a space that is equal parts safe and challenging. I will not just nod and validate everything you say — if I see a pattern that is not serving you, I will gently but honestly bring it to your attention, because real growth requires a little discomfort. But I will never push you further than you are ready to go.

Being bilingual also shapes the feel of my sessions in meaningful ways. For my Spanish-speaking clients, there is an ease and a familiarity that comes from being able to express yourself fully in your first language. Culture, family, and identity are always welcome in the room — I do not ask anyone to leave any part of themselves at the door.

Ultimately, a session with me feels like a conversation with someone who is fully in your corner — honest, warm, prepared, and completely committed to helping you move forward.

I believe what keeps clients coming back is something that cannot be found in a textbook or a list of credentials — it is the feeling of being truly seen, heard, and respected. From the very first session, I make it a priority to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable, knowing that what they share will be met with compassion and without judgment.

Many of my clients have had experiences — in life and sometimes even in previous therapeutic relationships — where they felt dismissed, misunderstood, or like they had to mask who they really are. I work hard to make sure that never happens in my office. Whether you are a child struggling to express what you feel, a parent exhausted from years of fighting for your family, or an adult carrying trauma you have never spoken out loud — I want you to feel that this is a place where you belong and where your story matters.

I also think clients return because they see real, tangible progress. Therapy with me is not just about talking — it is about doing. Every session has a purpose. We identify goals together, we track growth, and we celebrate even the smallest victories because those small wins are often the foundation of lasting change. I bring the same structured, evidence-based thinking I developed over two decades of behavioral work into the therapy room, which means clients leave sessions with concrete tools and strategies they can actually use in their daily lives.

My background working across schools, homes, and communities has also taught me to think beyond the therapy room. I understand that healing does not happen in isolation — it happens in your relationships, your home, your workplace, and your community. So I take a holistic view of each client’s life and make sure the work we do together is practical, relevant, and connected to what matters most to you.

For my Spanish-speaking clients, coming back is also about finding a clinician who understands not just their language but their cultural values, family dynamics, and lived experiences. Culturally responsive care is not an add-on for me — it is woven into everything I do.

At the end of the day, I think clients return because they trust me. And I never take that trust lightly. It is the foundation of everything we build together.
