Personal Experience & Biography

I have over 13 years of experience in the child welfare system. I have experience working with a multitude of different high risk behaviors and patterns, although not in a therapeutic manner but more as of a case manager. I have worked with clients as an ongoing case worker within child protective services as well as supervised a team of social workers who are providing ongoing support and case management to clients.

When you meet with me, you’ll notice that I bring the steadiness and perspective that come from 13 years of experience in child welfare I create a space that is calm, patient, and grounded—one where clients can feel safe opening up, even if they’ve struggled with trust, emotional regulation, or past trauma.

I start by building rapport and genuine connection. I listen actively and without judgment, giving young people room to express themselves and helping them feel heard, respected, and validated. Because I’ve navigated so many crisis situations throughout my career, I’m able to remain composed under pressure, offering a sense of stability that helps youth feel more comfortable and supported.

My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I encourage clients to explore their thoughts and feelings while helping them develop insight into their behaviors and choices. I balance empathy with structure—using clear communication, gentle guidance, and trauma-informed strategies to support them in building coping skills, identifying goals, and creating healthier patterns of interaction.

With my deep understanding of family systems, attachment needs, and the realities of the child welfare system, I also work with youth to help them make sense of their experiences. I focus on building their confidence, strengthening their self-advocacy, and empowering them to navigate relationships and daily challenges more effectively.

Overall, sessions with me are supportive, engaging, and growth-oriented. I strive to provide an environment rooted in compassion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping each young person feel safe, understood, and empowered.

Clients come back to me because they feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood. I offer a calm, consistent presence and create a space where they feel safe to open up, grow, and work through difficult experiences without judgment.
