I know that starting therapy can be a scary and intimidating experience, and my goal as a clinician is to help my clients feel at ease with me. I am there to help my clients learn how their mind works and what skills they can learn to help change their thought processes, to then change their behaviors. The client and I are a team working together to help the client achieve their treatment goals.
I enjoy having a relaxed demeanor with my clients. I want them to feel like they are talking to someone who has zero judgment of them and that their concerns are being heard. I am an open book regarding any questions or concerns that new clients may have about services and treatment.
I believe that clients continue to see me because I treat them with respect and hope to make them feel at ease when working with me. My goal as a clinician is for the client to leave the first session feeling that they were heard, understood, and feeling comfortable to keep working with me on their treatment goals.
