With over 40 years of experience, I bring a seasoned, compassionate, and interactive approach to therapy. I’m a graduate of Fordham University, where I studied psychology and French, and I earned my Master’s in Social Work from New York University, with a focus in Clinical Social Work. Over the years, I’ve worked in Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals, University Counseling Center, Employee Assistance Programs, and Private Practice settings in New York. We relocated to Kentucky in 2013. I worked at St. Claire Counseling Outpatient Behavioral Health Unit for 7 years, and until recently at ACenter4Change in Morehead, KY. I practice an integrative, interactive, and evidence-based form of therapy that combines several modalities —psychodynamic psychotherapy, structural family therapy, solution‐focused brief therapy, and cognitive‐behavioral techniques—tailored to each client’s unique needs.
I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Structural Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Substance Abuse and Recovery. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and highly engaged—I don’t just nod for 45 minutes. I work collaboratively with clients, whether they’re looking for deep insight, concrete strategies, or a mix of both.
I am committed to building a strong, therapeutic alliance. I am very sensitive to clients who struggle with trust and betrayal being very aware that trust is a huge issue at the beginning of therapy. My hope is that we will be co partners in treatment. Hopefully, you will participate in setting treatment goals. This is achieved through discussion, exercises and feedback with the goal of enhancing motivation and interventions that fit your goals. I use humor in my sessions and love to “think outside the box”. I believe there is nothing more liberating that knowing that we have options and flexibility as we move forward in life. The first appointment is an intake appointment where we take time to get to know each other, Identify the presenting problem, obtain history which is very important and set treatment goals. Psychotherapy sessions are typically 50 minutes, weekly or bi weekly depending on your needs and schedule. At times, I will provide handouts, recommended readings and digital tools to support your progress.
My clients appreciate that I truly listen. My style is collaborative and active, engaging clients in worksheets, exercises, and utilizing external resources to foster insight, skill‐building, and real‐world application. I aim to empower my clients through a strong therapeutic alliance and flexible, and responsive interventions. I value the whole person and believe that being truly seen and heard is the foundation for building self-esteem, confidence, and lasting change. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings clinical depth, creative thinking, and genuine care to the room, I’d be honored to work with you.
