I like to take into account a holistic approach with each and every single one of my clients. I believe it is important for a therapist and client to explore all the different factors that could be contributing to one’s mental well-being. This could include mental, social, spiritual, physical, environmental factors, etc.. By exploring these different factors/areas with clients, I can better understand each client and we can create the most efficient treatment plan together. I want my clients to know that they are the center of their own care. Each client is different and my approach with each client will reflect what that specific client needs. I have helped clients explore emotions, begin to process trauma and grief, practice and implement mindfulness, develop and integrate coping skills, etc. Each clients needs their own personalized approach and I do my best to provide each client with that individualized experience. Other than a person-centered treatment approach, I also like to utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused approaches. I am a big advocate of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). This allows an individual to be present in the moment and learn to process their thoughts and feelings in that present moment. I encourage all my clients to practice mindfulness and breathing exercises. Both of these can lead to alleviating anxiety and depressive symptoms. Every individual is working on themselves and healing deals with the mind, body, and soul. I am here to help clients explore all types of situations, feelings, thoughts, emotions, etc. Once we explore these together, I can begin to help each client start healing from within.
I would say I am very open-minded and non-judgmental. I believe clients are quick to pick up on this and it helps encourage them to be more trusting and open in session. I am a very caring and compassionate individual and this can be observed during sessions as well. I like to see clients excel and constantly improve. I will hold my clients accountable just as I do myself. I am an ambitious individual and will work to help each and every client strive for ambitiousness and determination in reaching their goals. I work with each client to create the welcoming and comfortable environment that will be the most beneficial for them in our time together.
My clients choose to continue services because I provide them with a safe and welcoming environment. I take the time to build rapport with my clients and truly get to know them. I let clients know they have the power to decide how their care goes. My client’s are aware that we are a team, but they have final say in their treatment plan. I listen to my clients thoughtfully and empathize with them. I like to remind my clients that they are the ones doing the work, that I am just their to help and support them along the way. My clients have noted that I am trustworthy, non-judgmental, empathetic, warm, welcoming and caring. I am honest with my clients and if I do not know the answer, I will make sure I find out for them.
