Hello! My name is Debbie and I have been licensed for 15 years as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Kentucky. I have a diverse work background which allows me to cater to the needs of my clients using various techniques and methods I have developed over the last 28 years. During my career, I have served through the Americorps program, provided services in home, in school, on the road (mobile crisis) and in the office setting. I believe these opportunities have refined my skills and helped me grow as a professional and person.
I use a variety of treatment modalities in session with clients and these include but are not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I enjoy working with a variety of clients including teenagers, adults and the elderly. I am confident in my abilities and am passionate about working with trauma victims, those who struggle with chronic mental illness, depression, anxiety, psychosis, dual diagnosis and personality disorders. My experience has trained me to meet the unique needs of these individuals.
Clients can expect a session with me to include my genuine interest in how they are doing, what is going on in their life, and for us to work together toward their chosen goals. My soft spoken, easy going, inquisitive nature helps clients relax and open up while at the same time challenges them to make positive changes in their lives. I am a strong believer in the importance of fairness, of doing the right thing, and that laughter is great medicine for the soul.
I believe clients keep coming back to see me because I provide a safe space for them to tell their story in an environment where they feel accepted and heard while I listen with a non-judgmental and empathetic ear.
