Personal Experience & Biography

Struggling with the big questions in life, like death, loneliness, purpose or powerlessness? If so, consider me a fellow traveler. Together we’ll explore these issues in search of enlightenment, as I know it’s all too easy to miss the forest for the trees. My background in social theory, as well as human behavior and education, provides a foundation to assist clients when burdened by the weighty issues of our world.

Our lives become increasingly complicated as we age, which often results in stress and anxiousness — even if we’ve obtained a level of mastery in our career. External pressures can chip away at our satisfaction with interpersonal relationships and professional endeavors, and I recognize the role our complex inner dialogues play with respect to our mental well-being. It’s important to find balance between self-acceptance and achievement, and I aim to support clients in their search for equilibrium. We’ll accomplish your goals by processing trauma, reinforcing personal strengths, and restructuring your worldview. A more informed and mindful approach is within reach.

I’m committed to developing a collaborative relationship such that clients feel comfortable being vulnerable and prepared to implement the changes they seek. My philosophical bent lends itself to an analytical style during sessions, but I always aspire to cultivate a safe, open-minded, and introspective therapeutic environment. I’m thoughtful and caring, though I’m willing to challenge and question clients when appropriate; my clients appreciate my candor and know my intentions are warmhearted.

In short, my clients return because they know I’m engaged. Client’s have my full attention, and my approach is one that engenders new outlooks. I offer something a little different than the rest — a viewpoint that’s grounded in philosophy and I’m keenly aware of the plight of humanity. My education and varied set of professional experiences speak to a deep interest in the way humans learn, organize our lives and communities, and make sense of our world.
