I have tons of experience and many skills up my sleeve to assist me in meeting my clients’ needs. Whether you enjoy traditional talk therapy, learning and engaging in hands on skills, or receiving handouts and other methods of homework for managing different levels of mental health issues, I can easily adapt to whatever is needed to make sure you get the care that is best for you. I have over 10 years of experience working with anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues, among many others. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is very useful for helping with long held negative beliefs, trauma, and many other mental health struggles. I would love 2 to help develop the right plan for you!
One of my first objectives when meeting a new client is making sure that they feel comfortable. I understand more than most how important it is to be at ease when sharing difficult and stressful information about yourself with someone new. I am extremely open-minded, compassionate, and down to earth. I consider myself very easy to talk with and put a lot of emphasis on making sure that a client feels heard and understood, no matter the situation(s) they bring to the table.
I think one of the main things that keeps clients coming back for follow up sessions with me is that they feel heard and not judged when in session with me. Not only do I put effort into the ease and comfort of conversation, but I also make sure to provide useful information, suggestions, and resources to guide their treatment. It’s also very important to me that each client gets my full attention and dedication to what they need to make progress, without being heavy-handed or too clinical with how I present myself.
